How to Add or Modify ICD and DSM Codes

This article will go over how to add Diagnosis (ICD) codes and DSM within the PsychEase EMR

After adding/modifying ICD and DSM codes in the Psychease EMR, you will need to verify a matching ICD code is present in Open Practice Management. Steps on how to Add/Modify ICD codes in OPM can be found here: https://support.pmhelpcenter.com/portal/en/kb/articles/icd-diagnosis-codes-library

You will need to log into the PsychEase EMR environment for the relevant practice.

You will then need to select a patient (this modal will open on login or can be opened by clicking the "Select a Patient" button on the top of the page.


You will then click the "Dx" icon to open a modal to manage ICD10 codes that associate to the active patient. 



To add/modify ICD codes, click on the "ICD10" button on the bottom-left section of the modal, this will open another modal listing all available ICD codes.



Adding a new ICD Code

To Add an new ICD code, click the "+" icon adjacent to the search field. This will open a modal in which you can populate necessary data for the following fields: ICD 10, short description, and description.
When finished, click 'SAVE' to save the fields of the selected code, closing the info modal.


Searching ICD Codes

To search an ICD code, begin typing the code in the search field. Matches will be filtered as you type.


Modify existing ICD Codes

To Modify an existing ICD code, click the pencil icon, which will open a modal where you may edit the following fields: ICD 10, short description, and description.
When finished, click 'SAVE' to save and update the fields of the selected code, closing the info modal.
