Office Therapy - PQRS Reporting
Can I report PQRS codes on my claims?
The short answer is Yes, you can add these codes as another Charge Type without any monetary value.
If you need assistance with creating Charge Types, please click here. For example, this would be the Charge Type set up for G8431; you would then be able to add it just like another Charge to that Clients date of service.
This is how it would look on a HCFA. It will also be on your 837 5010 Claim file if you electronically file as an additional line item.
However, please be advised that with the submission of each code on a claim you are, in essence stating to CMS that you have the documentation either in your EHR or in your Paper Chart to back up each of the parameters that are required to be completed to fulfill that measure. Ultimately, you are responsible for what you bill and what you document to CMS. We highly recommend using a CMS approved Registry for reporting these PQRS Measures to ensure that accurate reporting is being done.
