Use Local Clipboard/Paste-copy buttons
Currently, the Copy and Paste buttons are grayed out when working on notes.
If you have information in the current note that you wish to copy, simply highlight the text to copy. The act of highlighting the text will activate the copy button.
Select Copy to copy the highlighted text and the Paste button will then be activated.
Place the cursor in the text box of where you want the copied text to be pasted. Select Paste, and then Formatted Text to paste the copied text into the new text box.
Within PsychEase, if you wish to copy from one note to a new note, highlight the text you want to copy and press the copy button. Go to the note where you wish to enter this copied text and press Ctrl-v (paste). The paste button is not active in this instance, but the text can still be copied across notes.
If you wish to copy text from outside of PsychEase the steps are different:
Prior to copying any external data into a note, press the Use Local Clipboard button first
If you are using MS Word, it is strongly suggested to paste the text into Notepad first, and then copy that. This will remove any extraneous characters that MS Word puts in its documents and can cause the carry-over function to not work (A NULL error will show). When you are ready to paste the copied text into your note, you must use Ctrl-v to paste. Once you are finished copying all the text from an external source, press the Use Local Clipboard button again to de-activate it. As always, Ctrl-c may also be used to copy text if that is more comfortable.
